What we offer

In-house diagnostics, built into every clinic

Every clinic is equipped with top-of-the-range laboratory machines to run diagnostic tests on-site. Most results come back within 24 hours, and many the same day.

A wide range of tests

Depending on what your pet needs, we can run:

  • Haematology - red and white blood cell counts
  • Biochemistry - checking the function of organs like the liver and kidneys
  • Electrolytes - measuring the levels of important salts in the body
  • Hormone levels - including thyroid and cortisol
  • Infectious and parasitic diseases - including kennel-side tests for Parvovirus, Giardia, FeLV/FIV and Lungworm
  • Urine analysis - checking for glucose, protein, blood and more
  • Microscopy - from bacteria and yeast in ear swabs to crystals in urine and analysis of cells from a lump
  • Modern technology: AI based digital microscope to analyse urine, blood and cytology

External laboratory

We work with a large reference laboratory who sends a daily courier to collect our samples for when more in depth testing is required. Results usually come back next day for most tests.

We use low-stress techniques to prioritise your pet’s wellbeing. If they’re anxious, we'll talk through options to make the process as calm as possible before we go ahead.

What pet parents are saying

The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely caring. The vet took the time to explain everything clearly and made my pup feel totally at ease. You can tell they truly love animals. Highly recommend to any pet owner looking for compassionate, top-notch care!

Jacques,

Sophie's human

The most positive vet experience our nervous Sprocker has ever had. Every single member of staff was kind, calm and engaged.

April,

Jack's human

My pooch absolutely loves going there, along with myself! Finally we always have the same vet who communicates all options for treatments and the best steps going forward. And the chat option on the app is amazing for any big or small questions.

Kassandra,

Evey's human

Good to know

Many samples can be taken during your consultation, though we may ask you to book a separate appointment if multiple tests are needed.

While we can run an extensive range of tests in-house, there are occasions when samples need to go to our partner external laboratory. We'll always let you know if that's the case, and give you an updated timeframe for results.

Some blood tests require your pet to fast beforehand - we'll let you know in advance and schedule your appointment at a time that works for you both.

Pricing

Costs vary depending on the tests required and whether any samples need to go to our external laboratory partner - but you'll always have a clear estimate before anything goes ahead.

Clear estimaes upfront

We'll always explain what we're testing for and what it costs before we get your go ahead.

Easy to access

Your estimate can be emailed to you directly, or found in the Recommended Care section of the app.

Speak to our team

Call us or live chat 7 days a week to discuss your pet’s specific needs and pricing.

FAQs

Every policy is different, but tests may be covered provided there are no exclusions. We're happy to help you make sense of your cover if you're not sure.

Some tests can be carried out in the consultation room with you present, but for others we’ll need to take your pet through to our clinical area, and we'll discuss this with you at the time. Rest assured, every member of our team is trained in low-stress handling, and your pet will be in experienced hands throughout.

Most pets tolerate sampling extremely well as they’re generally straightforward, minimally uncomfortable procedures. On rare occasions, a light sedation or some anti-anxiety medication may help for particularly anxious patients. We'll always chat to you and get your go-ahead first.
